Penance started off on a slow boil but I had no issues in being transfixed from the first chapter, sensing the book was really going to take me places and it most certainly did.

This one is a bit of a surprise package, it turns a corner at a certain point in the book and it's just riveting reading beyond/5. Penance was the perfect book for me at this moment in my life. I've grown impatient with the same old, same old, and this book was anything but that.
